The board is absolutely gorgeous, everything made with such love I can’t stop enjoying this baby it’s like riding a Mercedes compare to other cars… stunning! Lights are futuristic
I think I lost my mind with this one ….compare to old generation this is big improvements

This is a board that I have been keeping an eye on for awhile and I finally picked it up. $500 for this board is an insanely good price!
At first, I was a little disappointed with the breaks as it was very sudden but I noticed that when I went up to normal mode, the breaks got so much better. I am not sure why this is the case, as you would think the beginner mode would have the smoothest breaks but I am fairly happy with the breaks on the normal mode. One advantage of this board is that it comes to a stop and its quick! If you need to stop, you will be able to which is a huge bonus for me as I will be using this around a college campus.

The build of this board is very solid. I ended up tightening the screws in the deck and loosening the trucks to make it easier to turn. I feel very sturdy on this board and don’t feel like I am going to fall off or lose control. This board is thick, something that I love but it doesn’t give. If you are used to riding a long board, this will most likely take time to get used to. I can’t emphasize enough how well this board is built.

As for the weight, I am very surprised with how light this is given the battery size and range the board offers. I do have quite a bit of muscle, so the 10.5 pounds isn’t that much. Holding it from the trucks is a little awkward, as I am not that tall so I think I will be picking up a backpack to strap the board on. Holding this horizontal with your arm over it on your side would be a little bit uncomfortable as the grip tape is very grippy and rough. This is something that is a little annoying right now but will be greatly appreciated down the road as the grip will still be there after use.

Overall this is an amazing board and I am very happy with it. I’ve wanted an electric skateboard for awhile and the price of this was too good to turn down. I travel a ton and cannot wait to take this board with me as it can go on an airplane. Highly recommend this board to anyone!

    An Electric Skateboard Fan

I absolutely love this Blink S skateboard! Takes around 15 minutes to ride if you know how to ride a skateboard, and is so fun to ride around! If you want a cool electric skateboard at a reasonable price, this is for you! 15 mph is actually really fast when you are riding on a skateboard. These also have flash sales often so keep checking back and buy when it is on a flash sale (I got mine $200 off). Thank you acton!

I am 65kg and this is thing is really fast in Normal mode. Still to try Pro mode in the future.
It goes up easy and the BREAK is truly fantastic! It breaks really well even going downwards.

I love it, I never used a normal skateboard, so it was a bit hard to get used to. But I love it, and I would definitely recommend it!

Amazing board. This is by far the best electric skate board.

    -16mph crusing speed(pro mode)
    -front and back lights
    -fast charge time
    -7 mile range
    -light weight
    -easily cruise up hills
-app for tracking trips and different modes for beginners, normal, and pro. With pro being the fastest topping out at ~16 mph and beginner’s at ~7 mph.

Theres nothing negative and this board. It’s the best electric longboard for the price. Though maybe adding a switch to the controler for lights instead of going through the app would be nice for when your phones dead.

So I’ve been interested in electric skateboards for a little bit but the price tag as kept me from buying one. I was worried about the ability of the board to climb hills and what not as there are some long ones around where I live. The board handles them just fine; however, you do have to have some speed going into it. It will not really pick up speed going up hill mainly just maintain it if not drop a little bit. I was really interested in some of the bigger more expensive boards but they don’t seem practical. I needed one i could ride to the store or class then carry around without it being to big and heavy and this does the trick. I weight roughly 180lbs and it moves me around just fine. I think later on i will eventually buy an Evolve Bamboo GT for fun but it wouldn’t be able to do what i want this one to which is allow me to comfortable carry it around when i get to the destination. If you’ve watched reviews online of this board you may have seen people talking about how the brake are on or off and really abrupt. I’m here to tell you don’t worry about it. If you don’t have balance for board sports you may not be used to shifting you weight around. I’ve been skateboarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding all my life so I felt right at home. If you ride regular skateboards think of the brakes of feeling something like when you hit a rough surface with you skateboard and it really slows you down minus the roughness. I would say 10/10 buy. Total blast to ride. Would like some more top speed, range, and ability to climb hills faster but the one thing this board does that others don’t is allow you to carry it around with ease. It does get a little heavy after a while but i got a skate backpack on the way to strap it to so problem solved. I would say this is the perfect commuter board if you have to carry it around at your destination. If you only want one board and more power maybe get the S2 but at $500 ( sale price when i bought it) it is a steal and worth every penny. It opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me.

The Acton Blink S is a terrific board! It’s fast, light and the quality is superb. This board is very reliable and Acton has done a good job putting this board together. I would of given this 5 stars but the range is only seven miles. Which is a lot further than it sounds but for 500 dollars I wish I could get a little more out of it. On the other hand, it does take only about an hour to charge the battery full which is fast for an electric skateboard. Overall, I think that the Acton Blink S is a fantastic board, it is well worth the money and I would buy from Acton again. You are getting what you paid for.

“I love riding around on the Blink S so far. It’s reasonably fast, even though it only has one driven wheel. Acceleration is pretty easy to get used to if you’ve boarded before. Brakes take a bit more time before you can use them without getting pitched off, but it is possible… you just have to prepare for it. And having a longboard with brakes makes it a ton safer.

The board is easily maneuverable and stable for it’s length, and the grip tape is tacky enough. Obviously it’s a stiff deck, so rough pavement is leg numbing. But that’s more of an issue with longboards in general than this board. They do use big soft wheels to help absorb some bumps and give it good clearance. Speed bumps have not been a problem so far.

I’ve been getting the advertised mileage and recharge time. I think it can climb steeper hills than advertised, especially with a good rolling start. But I am only 115 lbs so that might be just me. No problems with the remote or iPhone app at all.

For the next generation, I’d like to see a rechargeable remote, and maybe some notches in the controller for different speeds and brake levels. Not deal-breakers, but would be easy improvements for the Acton team to make.”

The ACTON blink S, is a great skateboard for its price. The board performs very well on roads whether you’re going down or up, and the one hub-motor should not be looked down upon.

  14. Rated 5 out of 5

I didn’t expect much from an entry-level electric skateboard but this board has really exceeded my expectations of its performance. It gets me up hills I didn’t think it would make it up, specifically this long steep hill by my neighborhood. I can then fly down the hill, using the brake to check my speed so I don’t feel out of control. The neighbors are all amazed at the board’s performance, I’ve seen kids look with curiousity at the board, and some people do a double-take when they see me cruising up a hill. One guy told me it didn’t make any sense when he saw me cruise up the long steep hill, to which I responded, it doesn’t make sense to me either, I can’t believe it.

The board is quiet which allows me to cruise around at night (the lights help a bit) as well as early in the morning. Early morning rides are the best as the air is crisp and cool, hardly any cars are out, and I have the roads to myself. I now look forward to getting up in the morning and riding in the peaceful calm before things get busy. I spend more time outdoors as a result and I have a new outlook on life.

As of this review I have 250+ miles on the board and am getting ready to replace the hub motor wheel as it is chipped in two places and has a slight crack (which I am sure will get larger soon). I ordered 2 replacement wheels since I hope to get to 900+ miles by the fall and maybe get into the top 3 on the leaderboard.

I find that you have to wait until the charger light is green (not when the app says it is 100% charged) in order to get the maximum battery life. In fact waiting maybe 15 min after the light goes green adds a bit more juice and allows me to get just over 5 miles on the board and ride for about 25 min. I do go up some pretty steep hills during the course of my session (and coast down them thanks to the freewheeling abilities).

The remote does not blink when the battery is low so sometimes I find the battery suddenly goes dead, in which case I have to push and/or coast back home. The challenge is the brake doesn’t work with a dead battery, so if I am at the top of a steep hill I have to drag a foot to check my speed. When the battery is dead, I have to charge it back up fully before it will turn on, so I have to wait about an hour to sync my mileage and find out where I am now ranked on the leaderboard.

I expect the next gen of this board will have thicker urethane for the hub motor wheel, since it is about half the thickness of the other full urethane wheels which show no sign of wear/tear after 250+ miles. I looked at Inboard’s website and they are sold out of their hub motor wheels, which tells me it is a common problem across the in-wheel motor e-skate industry.

I’m excited about the future of electric skateboarding and am eager to see how Acton will continue to evolve its product line. Here’s to 1000+ miles on the Blink S, knocking on the beautiful Canadian Maple wood deck 😉

I have been commuting in NYC for the past 6 years now and I will always be either skating a penny board or on my bicycle. I hate walking and using the subway. I always prefer to be in as much control of my commute as I can. Unfortunately on the hotter days this form of transportation leaves me pretty sweaty which isn’t the best look for work or a bar scene.

I’ve had the Blink S for about two weeks now and am loving it. I’ve been looking to invest in an electric skateboard for years now but I couldn’t justify a $1500 purchase of a board that gets 4 realistic miles on a single charge. I live in Queens and my commute alone is 4.5miles to Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. This journey takes me over the 59th street bridge and straight across the craziness that is midtown Manhattan.

Bottom Line-This is an amazing board for urban living and is unlike the other boards out on the market. Weighing only 10 lbs this board is portable enough for a quick supermarket trip and packs enough battery and motor power for an afternoon cruise around the town. I’ve road the Boosted V2, Evolve Bamboo one, Blink Lite, and the Blink S.

Out of all the boards the Blink S is my favorite. Coming from a Surfing/Snowboarding background I’m looking for a board that you can thrust around to give me more of that flowing feeling. Going fast is only fun for so long.. The Blink S gives you the maneuverability that the longer, heavier boards can’t so you can actually session a concrete wave. Also, to have endless inertia while skating is insanely fun!

Out of all the different remotes I think the Acton’s is the simplest. It doesn’t have a deadswitch like the Boosted but the in hub motor gradually accelerates so even if you accidentally bump it while stopped at a red light the board won’t go flying into traffic (Happens often with Evolve remotes).

    Other selling points..
    Acton app is awesome.
Lights are a lifesaver for night riding.
In Hub motor allows the board to coast super smooth when the trigger is not engaged.

    Things Acton can work on….
A huge selling point for me was that they designed the first Blink S decks to be free standing. Really wish the new deck had the ability to freestand. Especially since this board is so portable this feature would make this board even more convenient to bring on quick errands and trips around town.
This board will sometimes get wheel bite on the the back wheels. Even with the stock riser the wheels will still catch the deck when you lean into the turns.. Also, watch your feet position.. Your toes and heels could also catch the wheels on the board in hard turns.

This board is my favorite by ACTON because it is fast, has good range, and is still fairly affordable! If I could afford the BLINK S2 I would defintely consider buying that but the S has served me well so far! So much fun 🙂

I recently purchased the BLINK S and use it almost everyday to commute from my apartment to classes. Its range is perfect for this type of trip because I can go all around campus without worrying about the battery. At the end of the day I plug it in to charge and it’s ready in the morning. Before I found the BLINK S I never wanted to get an eboard because the other options are too expensive, but ACTON really came in clutch offering this board at a much cheaper price! Buy this board!!

Received my Blink S about 4 days ago and have already put about 25-30miles on it. Build quality is great and functions perfectly. The brakes are still a little jolty in my opinion but I am starting to get used to it. One con I see is the mobile app. I wish there was a function to always see the battery percentage of the board instead of waiting for it to cycle from speed and mileage to a numeric percentage. Though you can see the red circle for battery life, I really like seeing the numeric percentage. I think the mobile app just needs a little updating overall. It was also a surprise to see the S2 deck on my S. Though I prefer the S2 deck over the original S deck, it would have been nice to have known that before purchasing.

This is my first electric skateboard and I’ve been following ACTON for a while. I’ve only rode it around my neighborhood for a few days and I really really love it so far! It definitely took me a while to get used to it, but now I think it has completely changed the way I travel. I would strongly recommend it to my friends or anyone who’s looking for an electric skateboard. Last but not the least, I’m super glad that they updated their grip tap, since I was really concerning about the durability of the sand spray.

  27. Rated 5 out of 5

I ordered it 2 weeks ago and have already received it. The BLINK S is an absolute blast! It’s powerful, quite and smooth. The build quality is top notch. I also really love the upgraded new grip tape design. It’s grippier and looks much nicer. I’ve owned a few other eboards from other brands as well, and I honestly think the BLINK S is the best deal among all options the market can currently offer.

I was super excited to get this board in as it’s my first electric skateboard and it did not disappoint! The board is incredibly well built and the attention to detail is top notch. As long as you have a working understanding of skateboards and have skated before you will pick this up really quickly. Beginner mode to get a quick feel for how the board responds and then throw it into pro mode for some really good acceleration. I was impressed by the quick recharge times and also how well the wheels (which are pretty large) handle bumps and rocks with ease. Don’t worry about hills, this thing handled a few by my house I didn’t think it would be able to handle! You definitely won’t regret picking up the Blink S!

I didn’t want a giant longboard and something i can just strap onto a backpack when it rains. It’s the perfect vehicle getting to and from work. The 45min charge time is awesome when you went far to a coffee shop chill out and head off again. Speed isn’t too fast but then you are on a skateboard NOT a longboard hitting 26km/h which can get scary if you aren’t used to it. But yeah it’s a fun ride carving to work when there’s a quiet road. It’s the closest thing i can do to simulate road snowboarding since I don’t have that much time anymore to head for the hills when life takes over.

I’ve owned a lot of electric skateboards. I have both generations of Boosted, the Evolve Carbon GT, many older generation boards, and even the OneWheel. I ordered this board in a family pack, but the board I was really interested in was the Quattro — I figured this board would be something I’d maybe give away or something. BUT – I love this board! It is so much fun to ride; it’s so sturdy and maneuverable, I take it off of curbs and ride manuals on it. It’s a blast! I thought the strap-on backpack thing was kinda gimmicky, but when I had to take my Alta electric motorcycle, I strapped the skateboard to my back, dropped off the bike and rode off. I’ve used that damn backpack repeatedly.

Honestly, I’ve got faster boards that cost 4 times as much, but I’ve got to say this board is the biggest winner I’ve seen in the space in the 10 years I’ve been buying electric boards. Can’t beat the price to fun ratio. Easily the right board for campus or riding to the pub. It’s also the first board I’ll give to my kids. But, they can’t have mine. 😉

Hi I just wanted to say so far so good with acton board. I feel like a bit of a genie pig using the board before anyone. But this board has exceeded expectations. The breaks are good. You can switch the remote all the way down to activate them.

The brake does not get harder the more you pull down or if u just pull down a little bit.

It just slows you down with the same brake power each time.

With that said I have long boarded a lot, it only took me only 2 days to get used to.

I really like the breaks, perfect amount of power for slowing down on a hill or flat ground!

I’ve only had the board for a couple days and it’s a solid board and it definitely has a nice design. Although the only problem I have with it is right out the box, the board’s breaks are not the best and also take a while to get use to. Other than that problem I enjoy the cursing I get done with this board and watching other’s expression on their faces as to how cool this product is.

It took awhile, but it’s worth the wait! Rode it 7 miles or so the first two days and really just had a blast. 16mph down a slight grade. Rode it to the store, love how easy it is to strap to the backpack. Had a little bit of indeterminacy with the remote but I re-paired and it’s been fine. I’m hoping they come out with upgrades for more speed and longer battery life. An extra battery would be cool to take in the backpack. Not sure how hard it is to remove and install.

This is a terrific board. Very solidly built, and a blast to ride. Great value. I was an indiegogo backer, and was initially a little irked that the shipments were delayed (just mildly, almost all indiegogo and kickstarter campaigns are late — you just need to accept that when you back a crowdfunded project). But the delay wasn’t much, and the result is a really fantastic product. I’d rather wait an extra couple months for a top of the line product than get something on time but with issues. But now it’s in production, so no worries about delays if you’re thinking of buying now. My hat is off to Acton. Well done!

This product was very carefully designed and crafted. The time and effort, skill and passion is displayed in nearly every aspect of this board. The weight is perfect and well balanced for a board of this size. I’m a lightweight male myself at under 170lb and I can effortlessly climb up even some of the tougher hills in my area. I am also a student a U of and there are plenty of hills in the Columbia, SC area. This board so far has done quite well with them, even for a single motor drive. The board has plenty of power. It is a little unstable at high speed in Pro mode. It is very maneuverable, but this causes problems when on a bumpy road at high speed. You have to get used to the board tilting so much when stepping on the board. Overall it’s the best board for the money.
